Best of RD

Betaab introduction music

Taken from the movie Betaab(1983).

One of RD's best creative composition.

The music is based on a western style of music (appalachian/cowboy music), introducing a guitar phrase of a very north-western style of playing.

Chehra hai ya chand (Saagar)

This song has a guitar intro which has been played with a lot of grace. Very romantic song, the music itself allows you to go through an illusion.

Aaja Aaja (from Teesri Manzil)

When we talk about RD's best music, we always refer to this song. Fabulous guitar and drum solo intro, and very dynamic singing and music piece. This song has marked history in RD's compositions.

Lekar Hum (Yaadon Ki Baraat)

One of RD's the most difficult songs to be played live on stage, where musicians require a big deal of band coordination skills.
Dynamic music and singing piece. Well planned musical ensemble.

Hum Kissi Se Kum Nahin Medley song [The only medley-like song in bollywood]

One of the most outstanding piece of music of all the time in the world of Bollywood. Missing this piece would mean missing a lot from hindi movies.
1. Trumpet intro
2. Chand Mera Dil
3. Aaa dil kya
4. Mil Gaya Humko Saathi
5. Explosive instrumental end

Tere Bina Jiya Jaaye Na (Ghar)

A song which has a lot of smoothness from start to finish. Also, a very romantic song. This song contains a magical term in music called modulation. This can be noticed in between the verses and the refrains.

Gulabi Aankhen (The Train)

One of RD's most popular songs. Very rhythmic song.

Phir Wahi Raat Hai

Very cool song, featuring percussion arrangement which you might not find anywhere. [Tabla used as a congas]

Aao Na (Mere Jeevan Saathi)

Asha Bhosle, showing the dexterity of her voice along with wonderful music of Sir RD Burman. One of the songs which have highlighted the history of bollywood music. A composition which you might not find in other composer's music.
